8 MRSMs, 2 Professional Colleges To Be Built Under 9MP


KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- The Government has approved eight Mara Junior Science Colleges (MRSMs) and two Mara Professional Colleges to be built under the Ninth Malaysia Plan, the Dewan Rakyat was told Tuesday.

Parliamentary Secretary to the Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Ministry Datuk Samsu Baharun Abdul Rahman said the MRSMs would be built in Rantau, Johor Baharu, Tanjung Karang, Baling, Dungun, Sandakan, Temerloh and Tanah Merah.

The professional colleges would be set up in Yan and Bachok, he said.

The Government had no specific condition in terms of distance from one area to another to locate a MRSM, he said when replying to Ismail Mohamed Said (BN-Kuala Krau) during question time.

Samsu Baharun, however, said the Government had no plans yet to build a MRSM for the Kuala Krau area as it had given the go-ahead to the Temerloh MRSM.

Furthermore, Pahang had a MRSM in Bandar Muadzam Shah and in Kuala Lipis, while the MRSM in Pekan and Bentong were under construction, he added.

Include Beluran By-pass under 9MP: MP

Kota Kinabalu: The Federal Government has been urged to reconsider including the proposed Libaran By-pass road project in Sandakan under the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP).

Libaran MP, Datuk Juslie Ajirol, said the construction of this road is crucial to sustaining the socio-economic growth and rapid development currently ongoing in the locality.

"With the rapid development going in Sandakan, the construction of the Libaran By-pass is very important and needed by the industrial sector and the rakyat," Juslie said when debating the Budget 2007 of the Works Ministry committee stage in Parliament on Wednesday.

Juslie said the proposal to build the 60km long Libaran By-pass at a cost of RM30 million, beginning from the Beluran junction direct to the Sandakan Airport, had actually been submitted to the Federal Government.

He said he had on a few occasions highlighted the importance of building the proposed road in Parliament, and that the Ministry concerned has also promised to include the project in the 9MP through its mid-term review.

However, the proposed Libaran By-pass was not in the list of the 9MP projects, although it was among those projects given priority by the State Government.

He said if the project cannot be implemented in one go, the Government should consider implementing it in packages.

Juslie proposed Package 1 to start from the Beluran junction to Gum-Gum via Sunga Tiramterus town to Labuk Road and Package 2 from Gum-Gum to the Sandakan airport.

最新消息（聽說的，準確性有待確認）：
山打根所有超商連署抗拒巨人打入市場，因為擔心巨人（規模太大）把整個山打根市場吃掉，其他超商就喝西北風了！

所以市議會遲遲不讓巨人開業，連紅包也不受，厲害吧。

但是因為有中央政府撐腰，所以開業也是遲早的事情，很無奈吧:07:

有竞争才有进步。山打根的超市应该要想一下如何吸引顾客，而不是阻止别人进来

對嘛  早該如此 ......  山打根人就可以多一個閒逛的地方了

這樣也可以讓大家才會覺得山打根是有進步的空間 而不是十年不變的...

悲觀想法：
假如因為市場太小，真的容不下巨人或最後只剩下巨人，如何是好？哪將會有很多人失業哪。

結果受害的還是我們當地人罷了:07:

當然是皆大歡喜嘍。

I do not think this is the case. I mean how many so called big supermarket are there in Sandakan? Giant Hypermart, under the Daily Farm group of company, is big enough to swallow the whole Sabah market, let alone Sandakan. Who are we to stop them from coming in?

We are so rich in resources, yet we don't have many with the vision to bring our local company to the world. We just simply satisfy with the big houses or cars we have back home. Basically, kampung champion, but once step outside, we are nobody.
